SMART METER READING APPLICATION

The DLMS smart meter reading application runs on Android mobile devices. It is an effective and efficient meter reading solution for DLMS meters (IS15959-Part1 & IS15959-Part2). This application supports DLMS conventional & smart meter reading, Real-time viewing of field meter profiles, data view, programming the meter and smart meters connect/disconnect. This is also a solution to address the last mile connectivity issues - where the AMR and AMI networks may fail due to network problems.

How does the DLMS smart meter reading application work?

The communication between smart meter and mobile device is bi-directional, through the below options:
- BLUETOOTH Optical probe,
- USB optical probe + OTG cable,
- Remote Meter Reading using GPRS with VPN SIM.
The application collects the meter data based on user input and stores the data in the device’s memory.
Mobile to server communication for uploading/downloading the data is conducted through secure API based web services using HTTPS, file transfer based FTP services.

GPS locations of smart meters are recorded automatically while reading the smart meters (Optional).
Compliant to IS-15959 – Part 1, Part 2, IEC 62056-21 standards.
Supports both online and offline mode (Poor network connectivity and network unavailable instances) – data shall be stored in the device memory, user can upload the offline data when the network connection resumes.

APK Third-party integration

SANDS shall provide DLMS smart meter reading application in the form of callable application, the customer main / parent application shall integrate the SANDS callable application with required callable parameters to carry out the meter reading.
Using this callable APK integration the utility / customer data is very much secured, No Need to share the-
- Meter passwords / Keys to any third party agency
- Server credentials for data uploading
- Customer Master data information etc
Downloaded meter data locally available in mobile folder in the Json string format.
