DUAL CHANNEL AMR MODEM
DUAL-CHANNEL AMR is a combined Modem for remote reading & local reading via Bluetooth through the mobile app without opening the enclosure/seals. Dual Channel AMR Modem is an innovative device that can be connected to any make of electronic energy meter by means of optical/ RS232 port, which is compliant to DLMS IEC 61756-18 standard. AMR system is compatible with 4G network to push the power consumption-billing data, load survey data, and event data to a cloud-based server, with fallback to 3G & 2G. The modem can be programmed to send any abnormal events to any number instantly. The modems have a store and forward facility.
AMR Modem can push the following data from the meter at pre-defined periodicity hourly / daily / weekly / monthly, based on the requirements, and the same can be configured dynamically.
Typical profiles are:
The modem has a special Program Over the Air (POTA) feature to facilitate the programming of the modem remotely from the server, using security channels and procedures. The automatic meter reading system also provides the following remote / auto operations and functions:
A dual channel AMR modem supports two channels of communications, one for the long-haul using 4G GPRS modems and the other for local communication with smart phones / tab using Bluetooth. The dual-channel offers redundancy in communication. In case of loss of GPRS signal for data transfer to the data server, a person with the mobile loaded with the communication software can read the meter via Bluetooth communication, and transfer the data to the server from a convenient place. This is very helpful for high value consumers to generate the bills even in the event of failure of GPRS communication.
Yes. The dual channel automatic meter reading modem can be connected to multiple meters by configuring it as data concentrator unit (DCU).
The dual channel AMR modem provides redundancy in communication, where the GPRS signal connectivity is poor or disconnected due to natural calamities. The meter data can be read using mobile and sent to the server at the desired intervals.
The data transmitted by the dual channel AMR modem is highly secure. SANDS AMR modem reads the data from the meter and send the data to the cloud via 4G GPRS channel or to a mobile via Bluetooth. In both the cases, the meter data is encrypted and transmitted. In the case of mobile applications, the user will not be able to view the contents of the meter data, as it is directly stored in the encrypted form in the memory, and further transmitted directly to the server.
No. There is no provision to view the meter data in the mobile, when read using the Bluetooth communication channel. The meter data is directly stored in the memory in encrypted format and is automatically sent to the server, once the GPRS signal strength is high.
